Gordon Independent School District
offers K-12 education for the towns of Gordon, Mingus, and outlying areas. Gordon ISD has earned the prestigious
Exemplary status by the Texas Education Agency for maintaining some of the highest standards of education in the State (Top 10%).
Gordon ISD ranks at the top of the list in education for area K-12 schools.
The accolades for Gordon ISD do not stop on the education level. The school is known for it's high level of
competitiveness in athletic realm as well. The high school football team is known as a state powerhouse racking up continuous
winning seasons, playoff berths, and two state titles in the past few years. The school is also recognized for outstanding basketball and
track programs as well.
